MADISON — Leemark Communications reached the milestone today (February 18, 2005) of preparing five years of Web issues of The Compass, Official Newspaper of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay.

Every single Compass newspaper issue that was published during the past five years was put online by Leemark Communications (though not every article is put on the Web edition). This works out to:

  • 220 different weekly editions (there are a few weeks during the year when The Compass does not publish, therefore the total is slightly less than 5 years x 52 weeks per year), or
  • 52,793,682 bytes of information (50.3 megabytes) posted online, or
  • more than 4,000 Compass Web pages, and
  • many, many long nights and early mornings.

The website, located at www.thecompassnews.org, is updated weekly in conjunction with the print issue of The Compass, but can also be updated when breaking news occurs.

Besides allowing people around the globe to read The Compass, having the newspaper on the Web also lets people search through past issues for articles without keeping five years of print editions on their coffee table.

Meanwhile, February 21, 2005 marks the five-year anniversary of the day Leemark Communications became a full-time job for owner Chris Lee.

“I am very grateful for all of the clients who have used Leemark’s services during the past years, even before it was a full-time endeavor” said Lee. “I look forward to serving Leemark’s clients in the years to come.”

Leemark Communications designs and hosts websites, produces videos and provides computer consulting.
